Taylor Head Provincial Park

Directions:

In Spry Bay on highway 7, 60km east of Musquodoboit Harbour. Turn right from highway 7 onto Taylor Head Road at the sign and continue down this unpaved road for 4.5km to the parking lot. The parking lot has four areas, begin your hike from the last one.

Description:

Taylor Head Provincial Park sits on a rugged, 6km slice of land sticking out into the Atlantic. With water on all sides and over 18km of trails and white sand beach this makes it a great place to walk. The parking lots are centrally located and you can choose from a number of different hikes from only a few kilometers to 16km. For the experienced hike out on the longer Headland or Bull Beach trails. You can expect much different weather at Taylor Head than in Halifax so bring extra clothing.

  • Spry Bay Trail - 4 km; features the rugged coastine of Taylors Head.
  • Bob Bluff Trail - 3 km; features Mushaboom Harbour and views of its many islands.
  • Bull Beach Trail - 6 km; along the coast to Bull Beach
  • Beach Walk - 2 km; excellent for bird watching
  • Headland Trail - 8 km; round-trip out to the tip of Taylor Head.
