By:Michael Isaacs The stove. If you need a stove to burn most fuels and need almost no care with full field stripability than this is it. Of course the chances of most people burning anything other than white gas in it are very slim since it is widely available in North America and Europe. The fuels are: white gas, kerosene and unleaded auto fuel. The Whisperlite International is a quiet 11 oz stove that can perform well in a wide variety of conditions. the only difference between the International and the regular one is the multi-fuel ability and about $15. This stove packs up quite small and it best feature is its simplicity there is almost nothing to go wrong with this stove and I have been using mine for 12 years without incedent. I have soaked it in rain storms and been cooking on it in 15 minutes. The whole stove can be maintained with one simple, included tool, if the jet is clogged you just shake the stove and its Shaker Jet cleanes itself. If it burns a little cold then turn it off and pull the cable out of the fuel hose and ream i tback and forth to get the gunk out and you are back on your way to a hot meal. This stove also allows the user to purchase different sizes of fuel bottle to ensure that you have enough fuel but are not taking up your whole backpack. Some people argue that the Primus stoves with thier aluminium pumps are better well if you want to carry a Primus stove be my guest they are louder and heavier than the Whisperlite(the Primus Muli fuel weighs 19oz). It took 11 years before a friend of mine melted my pump so badly that it could not be used, I am not sure how she did it, she owns one, but a little fire did get the best of the pump, $35 replacement cost.
