The MSR Simmerlite is the lightest liquid fuel stove made (8.5oz, 240g). It is a better design than the Whisperlite design since the biggest problem with the leg design on the Whisperlite is that over time they no longer touch the burner and do not sit where they should. The Simmerlite uses a machined leg anchored to the center of the burner the legs can't bend away thus are always in the right spot. The Simmerlite bends the generator around the burner so that it uses less fuel to prelight and lights faster than the Whisperlite. This stove is also the quitest stove on the market and as you may have guessed from the name it simmers, really. It does not have the flame control of the MSR Dragonfly but who cares the Dragonfly weighs twice as much and sounds like a jet. The only downside is that it only comes in single fuel configuration which really isn't a problem for people staying in North America or Europe. If you want a light weight stove that will perform for years then this is your stove, it sells for $109.
