Directions:
Take Herring Cove road(it switches to another name after Spryfield)until you see the sign for Chebucto Head and Duncans Cove. Take this left off of the road and part way down there will be a road to the right, turn down it and there will be a parking lot on the left. Park your car here and walk to the opposite side of the road where you follow a driveway to a gate, step over the gate, the home owners are happy to let hikers access the trail.
Description:
Duncans Cove is one of the most accesable shoreline trails to metro Halifax. Follow the driveway around until you can just see the house, as you do the trail starts near a telephone pole on your right. Follow the trail down to the shore where it follows the coast for a few kilometers, this is and out and back hike, although you can make a small loop on the way back if you follow the trail to the old military structure and continue on the hill top trial back to the start. This is not a strenuous hike and can easily be done in a few hours. |
