Directions:
From the town of Antigonish take Hwy 245 to the Browns Mountian/Pleasant Valley turnoff. At the second intersection head right, the road becomes very rough as you head up Browns Mountain. About 10km past the transmitter towers the road takes a sharp left and heads down to Cuties Hollow. Look to the right for a spring and on the left a hand painted sign that says 'Cuties Hollow' pull over and park on the roadside.
Description:
The hike is a 5km return jaunt along the James River. It starts off on an abandoned road, about 1km in the trail heads left straight uphill which then proceeds straight downhill. At the bottom of this hill you arrive at a junction, go straight, through the pine trees. After another kilometer you will see a path heading to the falls. The climb to the falls is very steep but once you get down you are at the bottom of the 60ft James River waterfall. The pool is deep and great for swimming. This trail can be very slippery in the winter and spring so take care.
