Cape Split Trail

Directions:

Following Highway 101 take Exit 11 to the 358 North and drive to Scott's Bay. Then follow the Cape Split signs to the parking lot and the trailhead.

Description:

Cape Split is a great hike to an incredible ocean and cliff view. There are two trails that lead to the destination point; walk along the fence and then choose left or right.

On the left a cliff side coastal trail, can be dangerous due to cliff and constant erosion.

On the right, past the fence, is easy and is well suited for most hikers. This trail is roughly 16 km long, you should give yourself at least 5 hours to hike out, enjoy the view, and then hike back. There are some washed out sections, but overall the trail is in good condition. Be careful of the edge of the cliffs when getting a good look at the view.

Parts of this trail are also on private property so it's "hike at your own risk", but the landowners have done a decent job at keeping the trail semi-maintained.
