Cape Auget - Boudreauville

Directions:

Take Highway 104 out of Port Hawkesbury. Exit to the right on the Route 320 at Louisdale. Turn right after the causeway on to Route 206. Follow 206 to Arichat. Turn right at Lennox Ferry Road and then left on Little Anse West Arichat Rd. Follow road around the bay on the right and then turn right on to Cape Auget Road, bear left at fork. The trail begins at the light house at the end of Cape Auget Road.

Description:

This trail starts at a pair of old wooden posts and you head about half a kilometer to the light house. At the light house take a left and follow the coast, the path is hard to see at times but will become more distinct as you hike. Be careful as the trail can be muddy and you should stop to take in the amazing surroundings. Just over 2km into the trail you will see some old foundations in a field. The homes were moved to Arichat 100 years ago by pulling them over the ice. One more kilometer down the trail you will come to the Clearwater Fish Plant, this is a good turn around point if you don't have the time to continue. The trail continues on the other side of the plant, the friendly staff there will direct you if needed. You should continue because this section is spectacular. However the trail can be hazardous due to erosion. Just follow the coast until you end up in Boudreauville.
